About The Photographer

My name is Earl Douglas and I have been taking photographs for over 40 years, no, I’m not going to tell you how old I am. I’m new to the Phoenix Area having just moved from Virginia where I resided for 16 years.

The main thing I want you to know is that I didn't’t just pick up my camera this year and decided that I was going to be a Photographer. I learned photography with a camera that actually used film and even developed and printed Black&White and Color prints, I even worked in a commercial Film processors for several years. My first camera was my fathers old 35mm that you had to manually focus and change the shutter speed and aperture yourself. It did not even have a exposure meter built in, you had to use a chart.

Throughout the years I have used 35mm, Medium Format and even a 4x5 view camera before joining the Digital Revolution where I currently use a Nikon D700 and Nikon Lenses. I believe the photographer should be only limited by his creativity and not be held back by using Prosumer or Consumer grade cameras on fully automatic settings.

Thank you for taking the time find out a little about Photography By Douglas. I am located in the West Valley of Phoenix in Goodyear AZ where I have a home studio. I also server the surrounding areas of Litchfield, Avondale, Buckeye but If you don’t mind a little drive then I pretty much server the entire Phoenix area. The studio is fully equipped with a wide selection of backgrounds and props for all your needs. If you are a little curious take a look a the Studio Rental under Services to get a look. Portraits

We do many different styles of Formal Portrait Photography, following is a list of what you can expect from me but If you don’t see what you are looking for just ask. We use High-Key (White) backgrounds a lot for Children and Pets recently but also have more traditional darker and even black for a more dramatic effect. If your taste is more formal than we also have a Background Set and muslins that you might be interested in. We now offer a completely Digital Portrait Session in addition to the more Traditional Print Sessions, check out our pages on both for more information.

LifeStyle

If formal portraits are not your style than you might be interested in a LifeStyle session. It is lot more relaxed and informal. We usually use just a camera or two and a couple of lenses. Whille doing Life Style sessions we work with natural available light when possible and occasionally will use a flash for fill light if the natural light is not cooperating that day.
